Bill of Rights: the first ten amendments to the Constitution.
Charters of Freedom: more original documents and historical summaries provided by the federal government regarding our nation's founding years.
Declaration of Independence: take a few minutes and read one of the most important documents in American history. Note two things: 1) the twenty seven reasons given for our nation's independence and 2) the four different times this federal document appeals to God (thus establishing our nation based upon, and not without, religion).
Wall Builders: the leading resource for quality information regarding separation of church and state. Spend time on this site and you will be well informed regarding the purposes of America's Founding Fathers.
U.S. Constitution: read it again or for the first time! Note that the phrase "separation of church and state" is notably absent. Also, keep in mind that when Section VI says that "no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States" this refers to the federal level and not to the states. In fact, most states had a religious test after the Declaration of Independence was adopted (July 4, 1776) as well as long after the U.S. Constiution was adopted (September 17, 1787). This was viewed as being harmonious with the U.S. Constitution.
